Dear Colleague,

it is my pleasure to announce the next edition of the Prague Workshop on Catheter Ablation with Live Demonstrations. Next March, it will be already 16 years from the first meeting. We believe that we have accomplished our first mission during this period: to support education in the field of catheter ablation in the Czech Republic (and in Central and Eastern Europe). Czech Republic belongs to the most developed countries in catheter ablation and the spectrum of ablations covers all arrhythmias, including focally triggered

ventricular fibrillation in patients with structural heart disease. Likewise, situation in Central European countries

has significantly improved over this period of time. We feel that our secondmission has become more pertinent now: we want to focus on promotion of international cooperation in electrophysiology. In our rapidly developing field, it is more and more important to meet our colleagues and exchange experience. Our ultimate goal is to work together on improvement of techniquesand strategies of catheter ablation and this maximizing the benefits and minimizing the risks.

Currently, we are in the process of finalizing our scientific program. For theoretical lectures, we would like to focus

again on anatomy, imaging, prevention of complication and peri- and postprocedural management. For practical

demonstrations, a preliminary plan is to demonstrate some novel strategies such as import of segmented scar from MRI into the mapping system to support VT ablation in patients with structural heart disease, to use MediGuide™ technology for catheter navigation, to show a case of alcohol ablation of the vein of Marshall in atrial fibrillation and the use of electromechanical robotic technology. There are some other interesting demonstrations to be confirmed.

We will keep you informed once the program faculty and topics are finalized. You can also find up to date information on www.ablationworkshop.cz. We will be honored to meet you in Prague.
